AI SCAM IDENTIFIERS AND PREVENTION FOR CARE GIVERS
$27.00 USD
Welcome Everyone! Caring for your family members is something we all need to do at some point. Caregivers, parents, and children of elderly parents all need to consider what is happening online today. In some cases, we have no choice. As technology continues to progress, we have to keep up. Scammers and AI deepfakes are no exception! No one ever wants to admit that they have been scammed. However, we are all potential targets. Several things can help when educating your family members, wards, or patients. 1. Slow Down If you are not sure about a communication, ask a trusted family member or friend. Take a moment to stop and think before responding, clicking a link, or providing information. 2. Protect Your Personal Information Never give your password or other personal information to anyone. 3. Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help Speak up and ask for help if something doesn’t seem right. There is no shame in asking questions. 4. If You Clicked the Link, Tell Someone If you or someone you care for clicked on a suspicious link, tell someone or ask for help immediately. We all get targeted, and it can be embarrassing to admit that you clicked on something you shouldn’t have. However, the sooner you ask for help, the faster you can take steps to protect yourself. 5. Have the Conversation Make sure they understand that you are there to help them. Don’t yell at them or argue with them. Remember, scammers are very good at what they do—that’s their job. They know how to create fear, urgency, and confusion. Your job is to help your family member slow down, feel safe, and make a good decision. Hopefully, this helps you help them. Janene
